The paint bodyguard, but properly.

Questions and hints for the use of our C0.02

A ceramic coating, such as our Ceramic Allround C0.02, is a professional way to provide long-lasting protection for vehicles. The coating also shines through its properties, such as the extremely high hydrophobicity, the particularly convincing deep gloss and the easy-to-clean properties. The service life of 20-24 months enables long-term protection of the surface against environmental influences such as UV radiation, road salt, bird droppings and rust films.

However, a ceramic coating can only be fully convincing if everything is really done correctly during application. Therefore, we have compiled a few frequently asked questions and useful tips in this blog post so that everything runs smoothly during application.

How do I apply the Ceramic Allround C0.02 correctly?

Before our Ceramic Allround C0.02 is applied, the paint must first be properly prepared. After all, the paint is to be sealed in optimum condition.

To do this, first wash the vehicle thoroughly with an alkaline solution (e.g. Green Star). If there is coarse dirt, such as tree sap, rust film or similar, we recommend an additional pre-treatment with Reinigungsknete rot or blau. Depending on the paint condition of the vehicle, a paint preparation with our coarse polishing compound Heavy Cut H9.02 or the fine polishing compound Fine Cut F6.01 is necessary. In the case of holograms or slightly weathered paintwork, we recommend preparing the paintwork with our Micro Cut M3.02 micro polishing compound. The polish residue should then be removed with the Polish and Sealing Towel. To do this, soak the Polish and Sealing Towel with Silicon- & Wachsentferner or Panel Preparation Spray and wipe all surfaces with little pressure. Then wipe with a second, clean cloth.

Now apply Ceramic Allround C0.02. Place the Application Towel over the applicator block for application. Before the first application, the Application Towel must be well wetted. Afterwards, only 2-6 drops of Ceramic Allround C0.02 are used for coating each subsequent component. The ceramic coating must be spread quickly so that a closed liquid film is visible. After applying two cross coats (two lanes lengthwise and two lanes crosswise), allow the product to flash off for approx. 4-8 minutes and then immediately buff out with the enclosed Coating towel. First remove the excess and then polish off with the fresh side of the towel in circular movements from the outside to the inside without applying pressure. Check the result with a paint control lamp to ensure that it is free of haze.

Under what conditions can C0.02 be optimally processed?

C0.02 can ideally be processed at temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius (59 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and at a humidity of 40 to 50%. At a higher temperature or humidity, the ceramic coating can also be processed well, but the flash-off time is shorter under these conditions.

How long can I continue to use an opened bottle of C0.02?

Ceramic Allround C0.02 reacts with air humidity. This can cause crystals to form on the rim when the bottle is opened. If these crystals get onto the application cloth, the surface to be coated will be scratched. Therefore, the crystals must be wiped off with a cloth before the product is dripped onto the application towel.

A bottle of C0.02 can be used up to a maximum of 6 months after opening. However, it should be checked before each use that no crystals have formed.
